Coffin Dancer – so heavy

09.04.08 | 2 Comments

If there are any budding directors out there who want to make a movie about trench warfare in World War 1 you should contact Coffin Dancer to score your film for you.  This music is gloomy.  I can imagine their music accompanying a scene in which the camera pans into the head of a trench solider, showing the audience what he is thinking about.  The soldier’s thoughts are displayed through a red transparency, the singer of Coffin Dancer breaks into a growl, and mustard gas bombs begin to explode all around him.

Coffin Dancer reminds me of a more psychedelic sounding Funeral Diner ( guitars soaked with reverb, delay, and tremolo) with vocals that sound like they’re being yelled from the depths of hell.  Extremely sludgy and atmospheric hardcore.

Check them out on their Myspace.  They also have really good looking merch HERE.  And a split with Kidcrash HERE.

Watch for the headbanging groove.
