I will be leaving for a 30 day tour on July 2nd. Since I don’t want this blog to sit dormant for such a long time we (me and dani) have decided to start a 30 day art project.
The Premise:
1) I will brainstorm 30 descriptions of objects/places/things that I want to see drawn.
2) Dani will [...]
Native rules live. After they played I felt jealous because of how good they were (and how nice their guitar rigs were). Super nice dudes also. They’re finishing up their east coast tour with La Dispute pretty soon so go check their myspace to see if they’ll be in your area.
ps. These videos aren’t dark [...]

GRAY GHOST
+ two other bands from puerto rico
The 4 bands listed that are playing tonight are extremely good. I may ride down there to see Gray Ghost’s set but I feel like garbage right now. You should definitely go though.
So I went to see La Dispute and Native play at Scott’s House last night.
The bands played in Scott’s very hot and very loud basement. It was the perfect venue to play at for such outgoing bands because there wasn’t a stage barrier to keep the fans from interacting with the musicians and vice-versa. Judging by the [...]
It is now 2:22 am. I should be sleeping in bed with my girlfriend but I am up fixing this blog because it was hacked yesterday. It was kind of a lame hack considering all they did was inject a couple hundred links to porn and viagra sites. Not really that thrilling.
Anyway, it’s fixed now [...]

His book, and many others, are a part of an exhibition showcasing books as a post-modern medium at the 5 Traverse, a gallery in Rhode Island. William’s contribution to the exhibition is a 92-page color cloth-bound book titled “Monday [...]
Here’s a couple videos from Ghost Mice’s set at Charm City Art Space in Baltimore. The woman playing violin seems like the happiest person on earth. She radiated happiness the entire show and it ruled. Definitely a fun show. Go check them out while they are on tour if you get the chance!

Family artists always interest me- parents and children, siblings, grandparents, whatever. No one else in my family was ever overly inclined towards artmaking so it always facinates me when I read about artist family legacies and wonder about the impact it must have on their work. Admittedly I don’t know much about their [...]
… was announced earlier this week. The $10,000 award will go to Alejandro Chaskielberg for his project titled “Hige Tide” about the Parana River Delta. Alejandro shot the photos mainly in large format allowing him to distort the depth of field and perspective and allow himself a bit more creative freedom in presenting his subjects.
His [...]
Robbie Cooper’s “Immersion: Porn” gathers a group of six individuals to talk about their experiences with pornography. Their question and answer sessions are inter-cut with intimate footage of them “doing the deed.”
The two answers I found most intriguing came from the females of the group – Lindsay and Kristin.
Lindsay believes that porn is empowering to [...]
