Mark Gormley is a dude from Pensacola, Florida who writes kind of awful, kind of extraordinary 70′s styled rock songs. Encyclopedia Dramatica says he was “the first major Youtube celebrity of 2009,” whatever that means.

BMore Musically Informed just posted their top 20 Baltimore albums of 2009. Top artists include Dan Deacon, Double Dagger, Jason Urick and Wye Oak.
The list is heavily oriented towards the indie rock crowd so don’t expect to see anything you’d find on this blog – well aside from Double Dagger. Good list though – a ton of good recommendations to check out.

That B-more Musically Inclined list is a disappoint. Represents maybe a quarter of what Baltimore has to offer.

there’s so much more going on in Baltimore, that list barely scratches the surface. Looks like they walked into Sound Garden and looked at what local stuff was on the Sales Wall.
