I woke up this morning at 6:30 am and biked over to the Sisson Street recycling center to put in my 5 hours of community service. After digging through the trash for a while I received a phone call from my future employer and got offered a job. Fuck yes. I start next week. So far today has been a very good day.

With this new source of income maybe I’ll save up for 5 years and buy this watch.

Tonight Ruiner, Pulling Teeth, Sick Fix, and Dead Mechanical are playing a Charm City Art Space benefit show at The Talking Head. Doors at 8. Around $5 bucks probably. If you haven’t heard Ruiner’s new track you should go check it out because it’s really good.

Every Time I Die’s new album leaked. It’s a bit more rock oriented. Not bad but nothing ground breaking.

This NYC Apartment is so fucking sick.

+ BlogNigger: How I lost My Big Dyke Friend

“Yo, pass that shit over here, BITCH”

“Wait till I’m done, FAGIT.”

My big giant dyke friend looked up at me over the Pad Thai, and we both broke character and started cracking up. She was shoveling that shit onto her plate because she was a big giant fat-ass. I knew that we should have ordered more than one fucking Pad Thai, but everyone always wants to “branch out” and order exotic vegetable shit they won’t eat, and instead they end up eating MY FUCKING NOODLES.

She was cool as shit – all big and rough and funny as hell like a big disgusting Irishman. She was basically a dude- I would literally have rather fucked Ned Beatty than her, cause at least he’s famous. She was physically revolting – hard to look at too closely, I’m sorry: Hairy lip, big obese chipmunk cheeks with that downy fur, and a big neck like a lesbian tree trunk.

Her name was Dana and she was my big dyke friend; I met her in college getting high somewhere. I thought she was cool because she was such a novelty- I know that’s fucked up, but in the interest of full disclo…

+ Ferris Bueller’s Day Off House For Sale

Do you have $2.3 million dollars burning a hole in your pocket? The house with the big glass garage that was featured in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is going on the market.

“Two steel-and-glass buildings make up this peaceful palace with the garage celebrating the automobile by showcasing the cars within. Architects A. James Speyer and David Haid built the structures on steel beams, creating a Jetson-like pod above the ground. The home also has stunning panoramic views, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls spanning 5,300 square feet and lending an affect much like Philip Johnson’s famed Glass House.

First it was stupid hats. Then came fanny packs. Now, you can combine each of those trends to create a supertrendy pouch that you wear on your head.

+ The Washington Post: “Being Poor Fucking Blows”

“You have to be rich to be poor. That’s what some people who have never lived below the poverty line don’t understand. Put it another way: The poorer you are, the more things cost. More in money, time, hassle, exhaustion, menace. This is a fact of life that reality television and magazines don’t often explain. So we’ll explain it here. Consider this a primer on the economics of poverty.”

1) Paul Graves – Balloon Bodies

Here’s a few photos from Paul Graves balloon sculpture series. I don’t really have too much information on these photos but I imagine their creation was very time consuming.

2) DC Inauguration Day Photo

I guess I’m a little bit late on this high resolution picture of DC on inauguration day from OUTER SPACE. Check that HERE.

3) TO DO:

This project is kind of meh, but I like it when artwork is placed in a public space for some random person to discover.

Check out ThingsWeForget HERE.

4) Igloo of Books Bed

This is so sick. A house within a home within a bedroom within a bookcase. A little kids dream, an older mans materbateorium.

A book with a narrative about a mystery, hidden behind paneling in the front hall, offered clues.

What Ms. Sherry didn’t realize until much later was that Mr. Clough had a number of other ideas about her apartment that he didn’t share with her. It began when Mr. Klinsky threw in his two cents, a vague request that a poem he had written for and about his family be lodged in a wall somewhere, Ms. Sherry said, “put in a bottle and hidden away as if it were a time capsule.”

That got Mr. Clough, who is the sort of person who has a brainstorm on a daily basis, thinking about children and inspiration and how the latter strikes the former. “I’d just read something about Einstein being inspired by a compass he’d been given as a child,” he said. The Einstein story set Mr. Clough off, and he began to ponder ways to spark a child’s mind. “I was thinking that maybe there could be a game or a scavenger hunt embedded in the apartment — that was the beginning,” he said.
