back from tour, leaving for Seattle

I got back to Baltimore around 7:30 on Monday morning after a 6 hour drive from the Spazzhaus in North Carolina. Even though most of us were sick for the last week of tour (thanks Mike) the shows went really well. We made enough money to get back home without paying out of pocket for gas so that’s cool. I’m leaving for Seattle bright and early tomorrow morning so don’t expect any updates for the next week. When I return home updates will be plentiful.

… I don’t do a very good job updating regularly. On that note, there will most likely be no more “pen pals” posts, unless we decide to continue the project in a few weeks. Sorry to T-Bone, who has contributed some pretty crazy imagery that I haven’t had the chance to illustrate.

I will be leaving for a 30 day tour on July 2nd. Since I don’t want this blog to sit dormant for such a long time we (me and dani) have decided to start a 30 day art project.

The Premise:

1) I will brainstorm 30 descriptions of objects/places/things that I want to see drawn.

2) Dani will have to draw those descriptions in a day and upload them to Stokingtheroots.

Nothing too crazy, I know. But it will be fun and help pass the time. I’ll post some sporadic updates when I get the chance – and Dani will be updating semi-regularly. Take care internet friends.

I wish these were somehow combined so I could watch Pansori, Snowing, In the Hollows, and Rosetta. Fugg.

Oh yeah, I went to see UP in 3d last night at Muvico. It’s the saddest children’s movie I’ve ever seen. Within the first 20 minutes most of the theater was in tears. I think it just replace BeBe’s Kids as my favorite children’s movie of all time (hopefully someone knows what I’m referring to). I don’t even think I would classify UP as a children’s movie. It’s a really well laid out all-ages encompassing love/adventure story.

I’m going to be out of state for the rest of the week so don’t expect any updates until next week.

I uploaded the entire Suis la Lune set that I shot at the Barclay House a few months ago. You can check those out on my Blip account HERE.

I shot a bunch of footage on Saturday at the In the Hollows (members of Ruiner, Pulling Teeth, Champion, and Army of Kashyyyk) record release show. I will be posting videos of In The Hollows, Bane, Strike Anywhere, and This is Hell when I return to Baltimore. The show ruled and most of the videos turned out well. I am sort of bummed that my battery died RIGHT before Bane played Can We Start Again. Fugg.

I picked up In the Hollows album and it rules. You can buy it HERE if you’d like. Can you guess who’s face is on the cover? (It starts with a B)
