Saves the Day at Sonar last Saturday night was kind of a bummer. $23 bucks a person to get into the show, Saves the Day only played for 25 minutes or so, and we were encircled by a group of bros and their girlfriends that were on the verge of getting fingerbanged (or may have been at a few points). There was some serious heavy petting going on. Not something I was expecting to see at a pop punk show.

I did manage to sneak my video camera out for Saves the Day’s’ last song but it’s not worth the upload. Fugg.

I’m not sure how much I’m going to be updating this week because I’ll be busy recording.

Anyway, Here’s a few things. One of which will likely gross you out.

+ Nyle – Let The Beat Build

My Roommate just showed me this video from NY based rap artist Nyle. This video is one long take and the music was recorded at the same time it was filmed. Pretty impressive.

+ Oleg Kulik

“Kuliks creates a symbolic set of parameters, which define the environment the dog-personae will inhabit and then devise a series of actions that unfold as a response. The artist describes the dialogue within his practice as “a conscious falling out of the human horizon” which places him on hands and knees. His intention is to describe what he sees as a crisis of contemporary culture, a result of an overly refined cultural language that leads to barriers between individuals. Thus, he simplifies his performance language to the basic emotive of a domestic animal.” via Wiki

I think we can all agree that blowing a Labrador Retriever is not an art form. C’mon Oleg, who are you trying to kid?

Full Story HERE. (p.s. He’s not really blowing that dog)

+ Ricky

The last 2 minutes RULE. ”And you burn… BURN. IN. HELL… REST. IN. PEACE…BITCH.”

+ Metric – Fantasies

I’m not sure if I can get behind this album. This is my first foray into Metric’s music but I decided to check them out because the band is fronted by Emily Haines who I posted about yesterday.

+ The Ocarina of Rhyme

This satisfies my inner nerd. Zelda beats + Big Name Hip-Hop stars.
